Shipping Administrator
Role Overview
The Shipping Administrator is a key member of the Delta Group's Logistics team, responsible for ensuring all products are delivered on time, in full, and on budget. Working from Delta Park, you'll manage all distribution requests, coordinate with suppliers and third parties to book collections and monitor shipments, and handle related invoicing. This role requires strong communication skills to maintain professional relationships with both internal teams and external partners. You will also assist with other tasks such as pricing orders, creating labels, and supporting the retail team as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing overnight UK deliveries either parcels or pallets
- Managing international parcels, pallets or full load movements
- Producing all relevant labels and customs paperwork for shipments
- Ensuring vehicles are organised to accommodate the volume being despatched
- Arranging booking slots with consignee if required
- Identifying and flagging urgent and high-profile orders / requests
- Manage POD reports as required
- Update all shipments on MPDO with POD information
- Manage late/non delivery issues
- Resolve queries when escalated
- Escalate queries when required
- Ensure work is charged correctly for all shipments
- Ensuring processes are followed at all times
- Build and maintain client and internal relationships
- Assist Delta Logistics as and when required
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Understanding of Customer Service expectations
- Understanding of courier services and software
- Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
- Ability to project manage
- Excellent organisational skills
- Able to multi-task and prioritise own work
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Experience of direct client communication
- Able to act on own initiative and possess a ‘can do attitude’
- Have a proven track record of delivery
- Strong IT skills, MS Office
